In Tolkien’s Elven language, Quenya, “Veryandë” means “adventure” with the root “Verya” meaning “bold and brave”. This pendant was designed with elements from Tolkien’s middle earth- the gently rolling hills of the Shire leading to the distant Lonely Mountain and the moon shape with carved Celtic knots beneath. It feels like a fitting name for this piece as I take this next step on my own adventure away from pottery for a time and into the realm of creating and sharing this jewelry collection. I hope it will be a talisman to support you in taking your own brave leap of faith and chase your dreams wherever they may lead you.
As with all of the pieces in the Enchanted Roots Collection, this piece is designed to stand alone as a beautiful pendant, or if you have a little one in your life, to be able to cradle and display the tiny treasures they bring you. Simply lower the stem through the ‘nest’ created by the rolling hills and mountains and slide it down through the hole pierced into the lower round edge with Celtic knots. I hope that this pendant will be a spark of magic and joy in your daily life. ✨
This pendant comes with a sterling silver 18” wheat chain with a lobster claw clasp. It is a beautifully woven chain and has held up to the most rigorous toddler and baby testing in my experience.

All of my pieces are cast in nickel-free 925 sterling silver. Sterling silver naturally oxidizes (tarnishes and darkens) over time. Here are some ways to keep your jewelry brilliant for longer:
- When not in use, store your jewelry in the box it arrived in- there is a piece of paper in there that will help deter tarnishing for up to a year.
- Clean your jewelry with a soft dry cloth after each use and silver polish as needed
- Remove jewelry while sleeping, doing dishes, swimming etc.

Each piece is made to order. All orders placed between the 1st and 15th of the month will be mailed to you on or by the 1st of the following month. All orders placed from the 16th to the end of the month will be shipped to you on the 15th of the following month. How was this piece made?
I hand carve each piece from jeweler’s wax using various files, saws and tiny carving tools. Once the wax model is sanded smooth, I send it to my casting company in NYC where talented craftsmen turn them into silver. They do this by making a silicone mold of the wax model, carefully cutting it open to create the cleanest seams possible and then removing the wax. Once this silicone mold is finished, they can use it to cast waxes which are then sprued (attached with wax) onto the tree (a wax form with my pendant waxes attached which look like branches from the main trunk). Once all the pieces are attached to the tree, it is encased, the wax is melted and poured out and molten silver is forced into the voids. This creates fairly clean silver forms. The caster then clips off the sprues and ships the rough casted pieces back to me. At this point, I’m able to use a jeweler’s saw to cut off the remaining sprue nubs, a file to smooth them and polishing bits ranging from rough 80 grit for reshaping to 1 micron super fine silicone polishers to creat perfect, radiant finished pieces.

I have worn this chain style for years and it has held up to a very active lifestyle and the eager interest of babies and toddlers. It is elegant, strong and smooth and won't pull or tangle in your hair as some chains do.

Your jewelry will arrive in an elegant eco friendly jewelry box with the Daedal Goods logo stamped on the lid in gold foil. Inside you will find your sterling silver piece, an anti tarnish tab and a silver polishing cloth.
Whenever your piece is not in use, simply put it back in its box and the anti tarnish tab will slow the natural process of oxidation for up to a year. If your piece needs a little sprucing up, a quick buffing with the polishing cloth will bring it right back to its original radiant state.
